30 Years, Seen Through A Glass
Lew Bryson has been writing and speaking about beer, whiskey, and food for over 30 years. It isn’t a side hustle; it’s all he does. He has written ten books (the latest, American Whiskey Master Class is available now), hosts award-winning video shows, produces a podcast on central Pennsylvania’s food and drink producers, and judges at international beer and spirits competitions.
He’s also written a lot of bios like this, and it’s always weird writing in the third person…you should read his work instead. Why not start with his new blog?
He calls it…Seen Through A Glass.
Why Is It All “Seen Through A Glass”?
I started the first Seen Through A Glass blog in 2007. As I thought about drinking, and writing, First Corinthians oddly came to mind: “When I was a child, I spoke as a child…but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then…shall I know even as also I am known.”
Seen Through A Glass was the name I chose then, and have kept, applying it to that blog, to my podcast, and now to this website, the home of all my writing (and Corgi pictures).
It means I’m looking at the adult aspects of drink, not just the joyful excesses of youth.
It means I’m striving toward clarity in what I write, trying to see and learn everything I can, so I can pass it on.
It means I see things through a lens of good drinks, and food, cheerful hospitality, the enjoyment of life.
I lift that glass to us all: for good health, good luck, and good friends!
Cheers!
