2-4 slices bacon, fried and crumbled

2 bottles clam juice

2 cans chopped/minced clams, with liquid

1 large onion, chopped

2 medium potatoes, diced (peeled or unpeeled, your choice)

1-1.5 lb. white fish (cod, haddock, walleye...) cut into 1” chunks

Optional: 1/2 pound of raw bay scallops, cooked peeled 41-50 shrimp, or “fake” crab/surimi chunks

½ cup half and half

Add first six ingredients to medium kettle; add water to barely cover. Cook over medium heat for 45 minutes; gentle boil. Add optional seafood, cook another five minutes. Add half and half, stir, and add salt and pepper to taste. Serve with good crusty bread.
